Sydney' Chinatown
Sydney's Chinatown is a truly colourful mixture of culture, shopping and cuisine. The distinctly oriental architecture, street lanterns and archways confirm it as a showpiece for Australian Chinese culture.

Sydney's Chinatown Sydney's Chinatown was initially located in "The Rocks", the move to the Dixon Street area took place in the 1920's. The current "Arches" were built in 1980, and now Chinatown extends into parts of Hay, Harbour, Sussex, Goulburn, Campbell and Upper George & Pitt streets. Chinatown has changed dramatically over the last a few decades and has grown into a rich diverse centre that has attractions and interest for all cultures. Busy and noisy streets are lined with brightly decorated souvenir shops, street stalls, grocery stores and restaurants serving a wide range of Asian cuisine. Chinatown also hosts a number of performances and fests throughout the year in line with the Chinese calendar celebrations.

Sydney's Chinatown is today a hotspot for tourist exploration and is one of the most visited attractions in Australia.
