维也纳 (Wien)，人口159万人（2003年）。

总统海因茨·菲舍尔（Heinz Fischer），2004年4月25日当选，7月8日就任。
简况/Introduction:
奥地利位于中欧南部的内陆国。东邻斯洛伐克和匈牙利，南接斯洛文尼亚和意大利，西连瑞士和列支敦士登，北与德国和捷克接壤。属海洋性向大陆性过渡的温带阔叶林气候。平均气温1月为－2℃，7月为19℃。
人民生活:
实行全国社会保险和救济制度，主要有医疗、失业、退休和事故四大类保险。2003年人均国民收入23250欧元，工人月平均工资2069欧元，职员月平均工资3275欧元。2003年每千人拥有小汽车504.7辆；全国共有专业医生16178人，医院278家，病床70376张。2000年，每100个家庭拥有电视机97台,电冰箱98台,电话87部。
奥地利1995年正式加入欧洲联盟，1999年1月1日成为首批欧元国。
